Rescuing an Underperforming Project

Before contacting Akveo, Astute Computer Consulting had started developing the web application for ANZCO with another party. The client engaged Akveo to do a review and audit as they were unhappy with certain aspects of the project.

Akveo did a full review of the current project and offered recommendations. Astute ultimately decided to engage Akveo as the primary development partner. The core challenge was bringing the livestock booking platform up to standard while accommodating additional scope and ensuring timely delivery.

Building the Solution

The main goal was to develop livestock booking functionality, helping buyers, suppliers, transport coordinators, and others interact on a single platform. Buyers can place bookings two weeks in advance so the sales and operations team can optimize plant process plans.

We started with a code review and customized the ngx-admin dashboard with Nebular, adding Leaflet, FullCalendar, and Smart Table components. We updated the Angular stack to Angular 9 and implemented integrated state management, OIDC for Auth0 and Azure ADFS tenants, Role Providers, Permissions Guards, and CRUD forms. We then expanded to provide backend architecture consulting as well.

The app was refactored to meet implementation timelines while accommodating additional scope. The agile CI/CD environment allowed further features to be incorporated since launch.

The project was delivered on time and received great feedback. Weekly meetings via Jira, Slack, and Bitbucket kept all stakeholders aligned throughout development.
