Kompartment is an Australian startup building a product to help SMBs organize their communication and document workflow through a single cross-platform application accessible from iOS, Android, and the web.
The client is an individual who wanted to build a product to help SMBs organize their communication and document workflow through a single application accessible from iOS, Android, and the web.
The client self-funded the startup, so the budget was quite limited. Initially, there was no clear scope, requiring the team to discuss requirements and suggest alternative approaches. The client also wanted a serverless architecture so that a managed platform would handle the backend.
The team used Ionic as the base framework to support iOS, Android, and web from a single codebase, built on Ionic 2 with Angular 2. Akveo provided T-shaped, self-organized engineers who could suggest the most effective approaches given the client's goals and budget constraints.
The scope covered React Native mobile app development, backend data structure management using Firebase, website design, and mobile screen design.
Tech stack: Ionic, TypeScript, Angular 2, Firebase (cloud functions as backend), React Native.
